Will there ever be waste management added? Managing corpses and garbage properly would add realism to the game, however at the cost of simplicity. Maybe it could be a part of the realism option in free play mode?

Yeah that's probably how its going to go. I think Mike said majors would be able to stand above the smaller ants, which would be able to walk and fight while underneath the majors, allowing for army diversity, so there would not be a spam of only majors or mediums.

Won't leaf cutter tanks also do a lot more damage than the smaller ones? They have massive jaws too.... so damage dealers and tanks?

I don't think it would be a very fun and interesting experience as an entire game mode based off of that. However it could possibly improve a free play or campaign level after hive bots are added. If there can be another enemy colony on the other side of the map, and then if you can start off facing another colony which inhabits your underground, that could lead to some fun ant battles.

Yeah the surface is the core component of free play, with a randomized environment of insects, food, enemy ants, and various landmarks. The only map for the surface is the beach currently though.

So you have 154 workers alive? And your brood chambers don't have larvae. You have food. So the workers just don't replenish any of the brood?

Atta cephalotes minima are usually only about 2mm, while Formica fusca workers are 5-7mm so I'm not sure if the size in game is going to be accurate. Atta cephalotes media are about 7mm so about the same size as a level 3 soldier ant currently in the game. Majors are normally about 14-18mm, making them bigger than a Formica fusca queen, which is normally 12mm. A. cephalotes queen is normally about 22mm, making it much larger than any animal currently in the game (I think?).

My question is: Just by eyeballing the two different queens, the Formica ereptor queen is nearly the same size as the Formica fusca queen, maybe a tiny bit larger. So if we can get majors in our formicarium colony, will we have majors much bigger than our formicarium queen? And when fighting enemy fusca or rufa colonies, will there be a size difference giving leaf cutters a huge advantage? Or will the costs of the leaf cutter be made much higher than rufa or fusca?

Same thing happened to me once before, I restarted the mission  :'(

(Spiders actually did not disappear, they were just stuck in the hole leading to my nest. (On the minimap they were considered on the surface) I could see them by toggling health bars, but when I moved my ants close to the hole in both the surface and underground they couldn't attack.

Do you have enough workers? Having every tile filled with (I'm assuming) soldier ants will probably overwhelm your workers. If you have built many more workers to bring larvae from the queen to your ant tiles then I'm not sure what the problem is.

We might get some scorpions in the new 3.1 and 3.2 maps that are probably going to be a tropical rainforest with leaf cutters. Phorid flies are also planned as enemies (as John said in the free play testing stream). They lay their eggs on worker ants and the larva eat the ant from the inside out!

That would be interesting and would give more strategy, but there would have to be a lot of balance changes potentially.
