Well, at a certain point Freeplay becomes just a game of patience (because 0.5 FPS) and praying your PC doesn't catch fire.

With the new Upkeep system, basically limited to around 200 ants and food income is very low by round 30 and the waves keep growing. Big beetles were dropping like 3 food.... It becomes very challenging.

The current documented high score for a finished game that starts at max difficulty is very nearly 4 million on our official forums by Balanite - can you do any better?

Heyo, bug report for ants getting stuck under the queen. I tried moving the ants out of the groups, changing waypoints, etc.

I have a comparable setup to yours and I never run that hot resource usage in this game...

Just loaded up an end-game save with around 400 ants (very laggy) and even did a battle mode with around 500 ants on each side fighting... GPU never went past 50%, CPU stayed around 25%, RAM stayed around 3GB...

I will try to replicate an extended play time to see if that makes a difference but I have played games lasting 4-6 hours and never had any resource spikes like you have described.

How is your resource usage while not running the games (idle mode) vs when you open the game?

You may have something else causing this issue for you

If you have been playing it nonstop it likely was leaking memory... Happens with alot of games to be honest. If your GPU was maxing out at 90%+ and CPU spiking up to 80%, it does sound like your PC may be slightly dated and simply does not handle extended uptime that well.

Heyo it is me again!

After the most recent patch (well done, much more exciting and challenging now!) I have been noticing towards the later stages, the bugs stop dropping food and simply dissapear. Not sure if this is intended but it feels like it should not be this way. I have noticed as the game progressed and thus difficulty increased, the bugs would be dropping with less and less food. The ones who are not "harvestable" appear to still drop the normal amount of food but any who are then harvestable are just simply gone
During this play through I was trying to go for maximum population to test the optimizations done so the settings are very low. No attack waves, no fog of war and lowest start difficulty on slider bar

UPDATE: It would appear even the "non harvestable drops" such as the little grub things that just drop their body to the ground are giving zero food when returned to the nest.

Since this newest patch...

Wood ants when marked to "move" and has enemies in it's path, they will not agro when in range of an enemy and will wait until they get right on top of the enemy before starting to attack. If they are "waiting" at the destination, they will attack when in agro range but not while moving. This results in alot of wood ants dying and thus wasting food.

(Not reproduced in recording)
Twice now my starter worker ants have stopped spawning despite having plenty of food. They just stop spawning. Before this patch I have been able to go right to end game without building additional worker ants. Obviously no more worker ants means no larvae being brought to your nests for more fighters... Royal guard being summoned and then the eggs hatching will respawn them, but after that they still do not respawn once killed. Not sure when exactly this starts to happen as it is in mid game or so.

Recorded the end-game lag as well. Starts to show it at hour 2 of the recording. Made some commentary on it during the final stretch even changed graphics settings. Also noticed if I pushed my ants outwards and cleared up some of the enemies, the lag alleviated itself and then all of a sudden came back. Looked to be just before the next attack wave timer started.
