General Discussion / Re: Jumping Spider funsies

Admin he doing it sideways

Hype for the eventual model.  Hopefully these can be some anti-backline enemies, since they'll be able to jump past walls of melee ants.

It would be a formidable enemy if it hid under the leaves of the plants and pressing ctrl won't  display its stats until it jumped to your ants. Though it should be a fast long jump than high jump. Either way, in late game it would just be a suicide bomber of sorts, like the wolf spiders.

Just for fun - a species of jumping spider will appear in the leafcutter levels. The artwork isn't ready to show yet, but the preliminary coding of his mechanics a few weeks ago was a giggle.

Some work to be done here, I think...

General Discussion / Re: Game ending Uber Tiger Beetle?

There's no specific game-ending creature in Freeplay - it's based heavily on controlled randomness. The uber BTB is the deadliest beast currently in the game, though!

General Discussion / Game ending Uber Tiger Beetle?
« Last post by Yaoiboi415 on November 16, 2018, 09:04:36 PM »
Just curious if the uber Tiger Beetle in freeplay is meant to end the game? It is about 10,000 times harder than any other uber. In fact an uber coach horse spawned and the tiger beetle killed it no problem. I had a fully upgraded nest with 20k food in reserve and the beetle ran me down to 0 food then killed my queen before I could even take half its health. I mean if that is meant to be the end of the game and unwinnable then ok. Just wanted to know.

Unfortunately not as on the Beach map it is 2-3 tiger beetles or three of the the big beetles (dont know the english name)...nothing to win there with 10-12 ants.
And their "spawn point" is aprox 2 meters away from ants nest entrance, so as soon you leave the nest in any direction your ants are doomed.

You can manage it with exact mirco timing, but still it is a very very very difficult start.

Now I'm wondering if I ever made a "Welcome to the Colony" post...

I actually don't remember.

I'm not much of a fan of Baron anymore, but he also introduced me to the game, lol.  I'm glad they did, because it's now one of my favorites, and I've gotten a lot out of just the early access.

Anyone been playing Deltarune?  Undertale as a whole is quite overrated, but it's still a load of fun if you like bullet hell and Toby's style of humor.  Personally, I just find it a relaxing game in general.

For an additional installment (or demo of one) it's done a good job of living up to its predecessor, along with adding some new features that stay true to the original design.
